Made by Mitchell is a bold, trendsetting cosmetics brand known for vibrant products and a loyal following.
I was commissioned on a freelance basis to review and redesign components of the website that would improve overall user experience. This project required balancing a visually striking aesthetic with seamless functionality to create a platform as bold as the products it represents.

The Process
Creating eCommerce hierarchy
Creating hierarchy on the product page by reordering components, nesting information like ingredients, and upselling additional products where necessary.
Dynamic visual design
Dynamic visual design through vibrant banners, a bold typographic choice that reflects the energetic, expressive nature of the brand while also being a clean, geometric and legible. This also followed through to button choices, using a chunky, elevated, drop shadow style that provides high contrast against body copy, draw attention, and help convert.
Product filtering
Added advanced filters (e.g., stock availability, price range) to help users find products that match their preferences.
Optimised mobile experience
Designed for mobile-first users with touch-friendly interactions, streamlined navigation, and fast-loading pages.
Shop the look
Curated product line-ups using looks seen on Made By Mitchell's social media accounts to inspire customers. These looks link directly to products in the inventory, providing users with another way to shop.
